Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then the positive terminal.

    Tightening torque: 

    (-) terminal: 4.0 ~ 6.0 N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.0 ~ 4.4 lb-ft)

    (+) terminal: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  2. Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM .)
  3. Disconnect the alternator connector, and remove the cable from alternator "B" terminal.
  4. Remove the drive belt.
  5. Pull out the through bolt and then remove the alternator (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    49.0 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.0 ~ 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

  6. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
