Spark test

  1. Disconnect the LH/RH ignition coil connectors (A).

  2. Remove the LH/RH ignition coils (A).

  3. Using a spark plug socket, remove the spark plug.
  4. Install the spark plug to the ignition coil.
  5. Ground the spark plug to the engine.

    NOTE: Crank the engine for no more than 5 ~ 10 seconds.
    To prevent fuel being injected from injectors while the engine is being cranked, disconnect the injector connector.
  6. Inspect all the spark plugs.
  7. Using a spark plug socket, install the spark plug.

    Tightening torque: 

    14.7 ~ 24.5 N.m (1.5 ~ 2.5 kgf.m, 10.8 ~ 18.1 lb-ft)

  8. Install the ignition coil.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  9. Reconnect the ignition coil connector.
