Repair Procedures: Installation

  1. Remove the ignition key from the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes.
  3. Tighten the knee airbag mounting bolts (3EA) and nuts (3EA).

    Tightening torque: 

    5.4 ~ 6.4 N.m (0.55 ~ 0.66 kgf.m, 4.0 ~ 4.8 lb-ft)

  4. Connect the knee airbag connector.
  5. Install the crash pad lower panel. (Refer to CRASH PAD )
  6. Install the crash pad side cover. (Refer to CRASH PAD )
  7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
  8. After installing the knee airbag (KAB), confirm proper system operation:
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
