Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF" and Using a scan tool, clear the DTC
  2. Ignition "OFF".
  3. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least one minutes.
  4. Disconnect WCS sensor connector.
  5. Substitute the WCS sensor or WCS Module and check for proper operation.
  6. Is DTC present problem?

    YES 

    • Substitute a known-good SRSCM, and check for proper operation.

      If the problem is corrected, replace SRSCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure and Go to "WCS RESET " procedure.

    • Substitute the SRSCM main harness and check for proper operation.

      If the problem is corrected, and replace SRSCM main harness and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure and Go to "WCS RESET " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute a known-good WCS Sensor or known-good seat assembly or WCS Module, and check for proper operation.

      If the problem is corrected, replace WCS Sensor or seat assembly and Go to "WCS RESET " procedure.

■ WCS Reset

  1. Ignition "OFF", connect scantool.
  2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF", select Weight Classification System and select "WCS Reset" mode.
  3. You will see comments and current weight measured.
  4. Make sure the measure weight is caused by occupant or tools or interference.
  5. And then press "ENTER"

    Specification  : Approx. - 4.0 kg ~ + 4.0 kg

  6. The 'WCS Reset' operation will take 3~10 second.
  7. Make sure that there should not be vibration or weight adding to the passenger front seat.

  8. If the 'WCS Reset' operation is finished successfully, you will see the following screen.

    Specification  : Approx. - 4.0 kg ~ + 4.0 kg

  9. Is the displayed parameter the same as the above 7 figure?

    YES 

    NO 

    • WCS reset isn't performed correctly.
    • Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure.
