Component Inspection

Ignition "OFF".
Remove "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH".
Measure the resistance between each terminal of the sensor.
Specification: Approx. 0 Ω

Is resistance within specifications?
YES : --> Substitute with a known-good PCM/TCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/TCM as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

NO : --> Replace "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" as necessary and Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
