Charging System

CHARGING SYSTEM

Charging warning indicator does not light with ignition switch "ON" and engine off Fuse blown Check fuses

Wiring connection loose Tighten loose connections
Electronic voltage regulator See VOLTAGE DROP TEST OF GENERATOR OUTPUT WIRE
Charging warning indicator does not go out with engine running (Battery requires frequent recharging) Drive belt loose or worn See CHECK BATTERY TERMINALS, FUSIBLE LINK AND FUSES , BATTERY DIAGNOSTIC TEST (1)
Battery cables loose, corroded or worn See ALTERNATOR BELT INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT
Fuse blown Check fuses
Fusible link blown Replace fusible link
Electronic voltage regulator or generator See VOLTAGE DROP TEST OF GENERATOR OUTPUT WIRE
Wiring Repair wiring
Engine hesitates/poor acceleration
Overcharge
Drive belt loose or worn See CHECK BATTERY TERMINALS, FUSIBLE LINK AND FUSES , BATTERY DIAGNOSTIC TEST (1)
Wiring connection loose or open circuit Tighten loose connection or repair wiring
Fusible link blown Replace fusible link
Poor grounding Repair
