Oil Pump Pressure Test

  1. Disconnect the pressure hose from the pump, and then connect the special tool between the pump and the pressure hose as illustrated.

  2. Bleed the air. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel several times so that the fluid temperature rises to approximately 50~60°C (122~132°F)operating temperature.
  3. Increase the engine speed to 1,000 rpm.
  4. Close the shut-off valve of the special tool and measure the fluid pressure to confirm that it is within the standard value range.

    Standard value 

    Oil pump pressure

    Relief pressure :

    7.6~8.1 MPa (78~83 kg/cm, 1102~1175 psi

    CAUTION: Don't keep the shut-off valve on the pressure gauge closed for more than ten seconds.
  5. Remove the special tool and then tighten the pressure hose to the specified torque

    Tightening torque 

    55~69 Nm (550~690 kg.cm, 40.6~50.9 Lb. ft)

  6. Bleed the system.
