Crankshaft Position Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Hyundai XG350, 2002 Hyundai Sonata, 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2002 Hyundai Elantra, and 2002 Hyundai Accent. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) sensor detects crankshaft angle. ECM uses input to determine engine speed, misfire detection, and for fuel and ignition control. For CKP sensor testing, see CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR under SENSORS & SWITCHES in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
