Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes
NOTE:
Self-diagnostic procedures requiring use of a scan tool are written specifically for Hyundai's Hi-Scan Pro Tool . Other scan tools may not be capable of performing all necessary functions. For specific scan tool operating procedures, see the scan tool manufacturer's instruction manual.
- Before entering on-board diagnostics, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition off. Locate Data Link Connector (DLC) under left side of instrument panel. See Fig 1. Connect scan tool to DLC.
- Start engine and retrieve DTC. Read and record scan tool self-diagnostic output (stored codes). See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
