Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes

NOTE: For specific scan tool operating procedures, see the scan tool manufacturer's instruction manual.
  1. Before entering on-board diagnostics, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn ignition off. Connect HI-SCAN (Pro) or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel.
  2. Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions, read and record any stored DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs). If any DTCs are stored, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
