Main Moving System: Crankshaft: Reassembly
- Install a grooved main bearing (upper bearing) on the cylinder block side.
- Install a groove less main bearing (lower bearing) on the main bearing cap side.
- Both upper and lower center trust bearings are grovels.
- Apply engine oil to journals and pins. Install the crankshaft.
- Install the bearing caps with the arrow mark directed toward the front of the engine. The cap number must be correct.
- Tighten the cap bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
- Main bearing cap bolts : 25 N.m (250, 18 lb.ft) + (90°)
- Cap bolts should be tightened evenly in 4 to 5 increments before they are tightened to the specified torque.
- Make sure that the crankshaft turns freely and check the end play of the crankshaft.
- Using a special tool (09231-2100). Install the oil seal in the oil seal case. A new oil seal should be used.
- Install the oil seal into the oil seal case so that the oil hole in the separator may be directed downward (arrow in illustration)
- Install the new oil seal case gasket and oil seal case assembly.
Tightening torque
- Oil seal case : 10-12 N.m (100-120 kg.cm, 7-9 lb.ft)
< For M/T >
- Install the rear plate to the cylinder block.
- Install the flywheel assembly and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
- Flywheel bolt : 130-140 N.m (1300-1400 kg.cm, 94-101 lb.ft)
< For A/T >
- Install the adapter plate to the cylinder block.
- Install the drive plate and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
- Drive plate: 130-140 N.m (1300-1400 kg.cm, 94-101 lb.ft)
