Description & Operation
Generators are battery voltage sensing, self-rectifying units with a built-in electronic voltage regulator. Generators contain 6 diodes (8 on Elantra and Tiburon), which are used to rectify current. Charging voltage of generators is regulated by battery voltage detection system. Main components of generators include voltage regulator, rotor, stator, rectifier assembly, capacitor, brushes, bearings, and V-ribbed belt pulley.
