Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor

MAF sensor is a hot-film type airflow sensor mounted within the intake duct between the air cleaner and throttle body. Mass airflow rate is measured by detecting changes in the temperature of the hot-film probe, and comparing it to changes in sensor resistance. ECM uses MAF signal to determine basic fuel injection pulse width and ignition timing.
