Piston & Rod Assembly

  1. Measure piston diameter .47" (12 mm) above piston skirt. Measure piston bore diameter .47" (12 mm) below cylinder block face. Piston must be installed in cylinder block with front mark on top of piston pointing toward timing belt. Note position of connecting rod on piston before removal.
  2. Check connecting rod for bend and twist. Maximum allowable bend is .002" (.05 mm) for every 3.937" (100 mm). Maximum allowable twist is .004" (.1 mm) for every 3.937" (100 mm). When installing, ensure notches on connecting rod bearings are located on same side of connecting rod cap.
