DESCRIPTION
Listed below are preparation tips to facilitate the installation of the Hyundai Security System.
TIP # 1
Before installing the Security System, unroll the main wiring harness and lay it out on a table (see Fig 1 ). Prearrange the harness and connections by doing the following:
- Carefully cut the black tape at the main alarm computer connector.
- Arrange to the LEFT:
- Valet Switch Wires (black & white)
- Ground Wire (black with ring connector)
- Door Solenoid Wires (red & blue)
- Door Ajar Connector (MI01 in Tiburon & MM02 in Elantra).
- Using electrical tape, tape these wires together near the main alarm connector.
- Connect the Valet Switch to the harness (make sure the bullet connectors are completely connected).
- Arrange to the RIGHT:
- Shock Sensor Wires (orange, red & black)
- LED Wires (black & purple)
- Siren Wires (red & yellow)
- All remaining alarm connectors
- Using electrical tape, tape these wires together near the main alarm connector.
- Connect the shock sensor to the harness.
The above preparation will ease the installation process in the vehicle.
TIP # 2
With the relays, do the following:
- Using electrical tape, tape the relays together into a single block (see Fig 1 ).
- Using long tie-wraps, tie-wrap the relays to the alarm computer module. These tie-wraps can be routed around the main alarm computer connector to also secure the connector to the alarm computer module.
