DTC P0442/P0443/P0446/P0455 - EVAP Purge Control System
NOTE:
This test is associated with DTC P0442 - EVAP Purge Control System, Leak Detected, P0443 - EVAP Purge Control Valve Stuck Open, P0446 - EVAP Purge, Control Valve Stuck Closed and P0455 - EVAP Purge Control, Incorrect Purge Flow.
- Install scan tool. Start engine and check if DTC P0442, P0443, P0446 or P0455 is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, problem is intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TESTS W/O CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Check for leaks at EVAP hoses. Repair or replace as necessary. If leaks are not present, check if purge control valve is stuck in open or closed position. Repair or replace purge control valve. If purge control valve is okay, go to next step.
- Check if canister valve is stuck in open or closed position. Repair or replace canister valve. If canister valve is okay, check fuel tank pressure sensor for blockage. Repair or replace as necessary.
