Retrieving Codes With Scan Tester

NOTE: If scan tester is needed to perform diagnostic test with key in START position, an auxiliary power source is needed to operate scan tester. Use optional Battery Harness (09391-33500).
  1. Connect and operate scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Connect scan tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located at coin box. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Retrieve codes. Refer to appropriate diagnostic repair procedure.
  2. Erase trouble codes after repair is done, following scan tester manufacturer's instructions, or by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds. Verify no trouble codes are reset. Disconnect scan tester.
