Component Testing: Switch

Remove switch in question and perform continuity testing according to appropriate table. Main switch is driver's switch. Sub-switches are mounted at each passenger door.

CONTINUITY TESTING MAIN SWITCH (1)

Position Condition (2) Terminals
Left Front Up No. 3 & 5; 11 & 16
Left Front Off No. 5, 11 & 16
Left Front Down No. 3 & 16; 5 & 7
Right Front Up No. 3 & 6; 11 & 15
Right Front Off No. 6, 11 & 15
Right Front Down No. 3 & 15; 5 & 11
Left Rear Up No. 3 & 7; 11 & 14
Left Rear Off No. 7, 11 & 14
Left Rear Down No. 3 & 14; 7 & 11
Right Rear Up No. 3 & 4; 11 & 12
Right Rear Off No. 4, 11 & 12
Right Rear Down No. 3 & 12; 4 & 11
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist as shown, replace switch.

CONTINUITY TESTING SUB-SWITCH (1)

Position (2)(3) Terminals
Up No. 2 & 4; 5 & 6
Off No. 1 & 2; 5 & 6
Down No. 1 & 2; 4 & 5
(1) Disconnect switch before testing. Check continuity between terminals. If continuity does not exist as shown, replace switch.
(2) Continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 7 in one direction only.
