Heated Oxygen Sensor Inspection

  1. Measure HO2S output voltage. Ensure engine is at normal operating temperature. Using DVOM, backprobe ECM terminal No. 28. Voltage should be .1-.8 volt at 3000 RPM.
  2. Disconnect HO2S 2-pin harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals of HO2S connector. Resistance should be 30 ohms or more. Ensure vehicle is at normal operating temperature. Replace sensor if measurements are not within specification.
