MPI Control Relay (Fuel Pump Relay)

Relay is located either at left side of driver-side console or right side of passenger-side console. This multipurpose relay switches power to the following vehicle sensors and actuators: airflow sensor, idle speed control, injectors and fuel pump. When ignition switch is turned to ON position, ECM energizes coils controlling injectors, airflow sensor and idle air/speed control. When ignition switch is turned to START position, ECM energizes coils (through inhibitor switch on automatic transmission) to supply power to fuel pump. Relay failure will cause a no-start condition.
