Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter heat shield, if required.

  3. Install the transmission cover to the starter.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Position the starter and install the starter motor bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the transmission cover bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  9. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the starter motor.
  10. Install the engine wiring harness/positive battery cable terminal (5) to the starter and install the nut (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement .
  12. Install the right front tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
