Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LLR)  or Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LH9) .

  4. Using J 41240  and EN-48543  loosen the fan clutch. See Special Tools .

    NOTE: If additional clearance is needed between tools substitute 10/32 thread 1/2 inch set screws on EN-48543  for the socket head cap screws as supplied, use thread lock if needed. See Special Tools .
  6. Remove the fan hub nut in a counterclockwise rotation (viewing fan from front of vehicle).
  7. Remove the cooling fan (1) from the fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
