Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Canyon and 2010 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- PPS module
- PPS wiring harness connector
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the PPS module.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 9 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Reconnect all components, clear codes and recheck for DTC 024. Refer to Passenger Presence System Flash Code Procedures
- If DTC 032 resets, replace the PPS.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the PPS module.
IMPORTANT:
When removing connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector.
