Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Isuzu i-370, 2008 Isuzu i-290, 2008 GMC Canyon, and 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Verify the cruise control release switch is properly adjusted. Refer to Cruise Release Switch Adjustment .
  2. Ignition ON, verify the TCC/Cruise Brake Pedal parameter displays Released.
    • If the parameter reads Applied, test the TCC Brake Switch/Cruise Control Release Signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the cruise control release switch.
  3. Disconnect the cruise control release switch.
  4. Test for B+ at terminal 1 of the cruise control release switch.
    • If less than the specified value, test the circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground.
  5. Reconnect the cruise control release switch and apply the brake pedal. Verify the TCC/Cruise Brake Pedal parameter displays Applied.
    • If the parameter reads Released, test the TCC Brake Switch/Cruise Control Release Signal circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the cruise control release switch.
  6. If all circuits and components test normal, replace the ECM.
