Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Isuzu i-370, 2008 Isuzu i-290, 2008 GMC Canyon, and 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Verify the cruise control release switch is properly adjusted. Refer to Cruise Release Switch Adjustment .
- Ignition ON, verify the TCC/Cruise Brake Pedal parameter displays Released.
- If the parameter reads Applied, test the TCC Brake Switch/Cruise Control Release Signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the cruise control release switch.
- Disconnect the cruise control release switch.
- Test for B+ at terminal 1 of the cruise control release switch.
- If less than the specified value, test the circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground.
- Reconnect the cruise control release switch and apply the brake pedal. Verify the TCC/Cruise Brake Pedal parameter displays Applied.
- If the parameter reads Released, test the TCC Brake Switch/Cruise Control Release Signal circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the cruise control release switch.
- If all circuits and components test normal, replace the ECM.
