Generator Battery Control Module Replacement (4 and 5 Cylinder)

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the positive and negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Positive and Negative Cable Replacement (LLV/LLR) 
1 Generator Battery Control Module

Procedure

  1. Separate the negative battery cable from the positive cable.
  2. Mark the position of the generator battery control module before removing it from the battery negative cable.
  3. NOTE: always use new tape and retainers when installing the generator battery control module.
  4. Remove the tape and retainers holding the module in place.
  5. Slide the module down the negative cable routing any additional cables through the module loop.
