Installation Procedure

  1. Install the knuckle and backing plate to the wheel bearing/hub.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts and tighten to 125 N.m (92 lb ft).
  4. Install the knuckle to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Loosely install all fasteners before tightening.
  6. Install the adjustment link to knuckle mounting bolt and tighten to 160 N.m (118 lb ft).

  8. Install the trailing arm to knuckle mounting bolt and nut and tighten to 170 N.m (125 lb ft).

  10. Install the lower shock and mounting bolt and tighten to 150 N.m (111 lb ft).

  12. Install the lower control arm to knuckle mounting bolt.

  14. Connect the upper ball joint to the knuckle.
  15. Install the upper ball joint mounting nut.
  16. Install the parking brake cable bracket to the knuckle. Refer to Park Brake Cable Mounting Bracket Replacement .
  17. Remove the jack.

  19. Connect the ABS sensor electrical connector to the backing plate.
  20. Connect the ABS sensor electrical connector.

  22. Install a new wheel drive shaft nut and tighten to 160 N.m (118 lb ft).
  23. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .
  24. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  25. Lower the vehicle.
