Installation Procedure

- Install the power steering pump.
- Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering pressure hoses to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
- Connect the oil pressure sensor harness clip to the pump body.
- Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement .
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (without A/C) or Drive Belt Replacement (with A/C) in Engine Mechanical - 2.8L or Drive Belt Replacement (without A/C) or Drive Belt Replacement (with A/C) in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.8L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
- Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
