Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir to prevent excess spillage.

  4. Loosen the upper bolt on the radiator support brace (1) and remove the lower bolt (2). Swing the support bracket aside.
    5. IMPORTANT: When pipes/hoses are disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components during service. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  5. Disconnect the power steering cooler from the pipes at the fittings. Discard the O-ring seals.
    6. IMPORTANT: Do not discard the rubber spacer.

  6. Remove the power steering cooler retaining bolt from the core support.
  7. Remove the power steering cooler from the vehicle.
  8. Disconnect the power steering cooler inlet and outlet pipe routing clip from the core support.

  9. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering cooler outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering pump.

  10. Disconnect the power steering cooler inlet hose fitting from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seal.
  11. Remove the cooler inlet and outlet pipes/hoses from the vehicle.
