Installation Procedure

  1. Remove the cap from the fuel tank.
  2. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket to the studs on the fender.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Install the fuel fill pipe nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the fuel fill hose to the fuel tank. Align the orientation notch (2) on the fuel fill hose to the tab (4) on the fuel tank.
  7. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  8. Connect the fuel tank vent line (5) to the fuel fill pipe vent line (1). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  10. Connect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  12. Install the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  13. Install the left rear wheelhouse flare. Refer to Wheel Opening Flare Replacement - Rear (Wheelhouse) or Wheel Opening Flare Replacement - Rear (Door Side) .
  14. Install the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Refill the fuel tank.
  17. Install the fuel fill cap.
  18. Inspect for leaks.
