Installation Procedure

  1. Route the cables through the opening in the dash panel, past the retainers (1) on the plenum panel, to the latches.

  3. Position the latch handle.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the screws which mount the hood release handle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the cable grommet through the slits in the carpet insulator and into the dash panel.

  9. Connect the cables to the latches.
  10. Install the hood latches. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement - Left  and to Hood Latch Replacement - Right  .

  12. Install the cable to the retainers (1).
  13. Verify the operation of the latches.
