Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Clean all the fuel feed/return pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the pipes in order to avoid possible fuel system contamination.
  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  2. Disconnect and remove the fuel feed (3) and return (2) pipes from the sending unit and retaining clips.

  4. Cap the fuel feed/return and EVAP pipes in order to prevent possible fuel/EVAP system contamination.
