Engine Front Cover Installation

Place a small amount of sealant GM P/N 12345739, (Canadian P/N 10953541), or equivalent at the split line of the upper and lower crankcases (1).

Place the front cover gasket over the crankcase dowel pins.
Place the front cover in position on the crankcase.
Install the front cover retaining bolts.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
Tighten the front cover retaining bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten

Tighten the front cover retaining bolts in proper sequence to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
