Confirmation Procedure

1. Start the engine.

2. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle for 50 seconds.Test-drive the vehicle under these conditions:

• HDS [ECT Sensor 1] above 158°F (70°C)
• Transmission in D (5th)
• HDS [Engine Speed] above 2,000 rpm
• Drive the vehicle at a steady speed of 43 mph (70 km/h) for 15 seconds.
