Transmission fluid pressure sensor E is installed on the passage of the hydraulic pressure supplied to brake B2. The transmission control module (TCM) measures the hydraulic pressure of brake B2 from the output voltage of transmission fluid pressure sensor E. Transmission fluid pressure sensor E is a strain gauge that changes output voltage depending on the hydraulic pressure change supplied to brake B2. When the brake B2 hydraulic pressure is low, the TCM detects a low signal voltage. Conversely, when the brake B2 hydraulic pressure is high, the TCM detects a high signal voltage. It normally outputs at range of more than 0.286 V to less than 4.94 V depending on the hydraulic pressure. If the transmission fluid pressure sensor E output voltage is a specified range for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
