CMP Sensor A (Bank 1) Circuit Connectors Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:
* CMP sensor A (Bank 1)
* PCM
- Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:
- Normal Conditions
- Conditions at the connections and terminals are OK.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the connections or terminals.
CMP Sensor A (Bank 1) Circuit Terminals Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:
* Engine ground
* Body ground
- Check the connectors for a secure connection or for loose terminals at the following components:
- Normal Conditions
- Conditions at the connections and terminals are OK.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the connections or terminals.
CMP Pulse Plate A (Bank 1) Visual Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
- Rear cylinder head cover: removed
- Procedure
- Visually inspect CMP pulse plate A (Bank 1) for looseness or damages.
- Normal Conditions
- There is no looseness or damages.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the rear intake camshaft.
CMP Sensor A (Bank 1) Inspection
NOTE: Since there is no direct method to test the inspection item, troubleshooting is performed using a known-good component.
Test Procedure
- Install a known-good CMP sensor A (Bank 1) and attempt to reproduce the failure.
Results
- If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
- If the symptom/DTC goes away, CMP sensor A (Bank 1) must be faulty.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
