DTC P00B3: Inspection

ECT Sensor 2 Inspection 

NOTE:  Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.

Test Procedure 

Unit output voltage inspection

• Preparation
  • ECT sensor 2 connector (2P): disconnected

• Procedure
  • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage].

• Normal Conditions
  • HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage] value is more than 0.17 V  .

Results 

• If it is normal, there is a problem with ECT sensor 2.
• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

TW_SENSOR shorted Wire Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
  • ECT sensor 2 connector (2P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

    Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

			(Disconnected) ECT sensor 2 connector (2P) female terminals
		IG Mode	Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.	Normal Conditions
	TW_SENSOR shorted to ground inspection	OFF		There is more than 1 MΩ

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
