DTC P0103: Inspection

MAF Sensor Inspection 

NOTE:  Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.

Test Procedure 

DTC check

• Preparation
  • MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P): disconnected

• Procedure
  • Jump the MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P) terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
  • Perform the confirmation procedure.

	(Disconnected) MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P) female terminals

• Normal Conditions
  • DTC P0102 is indicated.

Results 

• If it is normal, there is a problem with MAF sensor/IAT sensor.
• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

VCC11, FGP_E, SG11 Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P): disconnected
  • PCM connector E (114P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

			(Disconnected) MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P) female terminals	(Disconnected) PCM connector E (114P) female terminals

	VCC11 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	FGP_E open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	SG11 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ω
	VCC11, FGP_E shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ
	VCC11, SG11 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MΩ
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	FGP_E shorted to power inspection	ON			Not shorted

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

VCC11 Shorted Wire Inspection 

NOTICE:  

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P): disconnected
  • PCM connector E (114P): disconnected
  • Rocker arm oil pressure sensor connector (3P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following chart.

    Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

			(Disconnected) MAF sensor/IAT sensor connector (4P) female terminals

	VCC11 shorted to ground inspection	OFF		There is more than 1 MΩ

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
