DTC U0416 : Invalid Data Received From VSA Modulator-Control Unit
- Before you troubleshoot, Review the General Troubleshooting Information .
- This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
- Drive the vehicle in this manner only if the traffic regulations and ambient conditions allow.

DTC (A/T)
- VSA system DTC check
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 5. Check for DTCs in the VSA system with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting in the VSA system - Refer to: DTC Troubleshooting Index (2019 2020 2021) or DTC Troubleshooting Index (2016 2017 2018) .
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification
- 1. Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes under the same conditions as those indicated by the freeze data.
- 2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U0416 Invalid Data Received From VSA Modulator-Control Unit Is DTC U0416 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good the VSA modulator-control unit .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between the VSA modulator-control unit and the TCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
