DTC P07BE

DTC P07BE  : Transmission Park Position Sensor/Switch "A"/"B" Correlation

NOTE:
  • Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .
  • This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
  • This code can be caused if the parking lock is released by using the tool and the vehicle is turned to the ON mode.

P07BE Transmission Park Position Sensor/Switch "A"/"B" Correlation      

DTC (A/T)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -4. Start the engine.

    -5. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to N position/mode for at least 10 seconds, and then shift to P position/mode for at least 10 seconds.

    -6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC P07BE indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between the sensor unit and the TCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Open wire check (PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2, VCC2, SG1 lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    TCM subharness 26P connector
    TCM 58P connector

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      TCM subharness 26P connector: disconnected
      TCM 58P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 17:
    Test point 2 TCM 58P connector No. 8
    Test point 1 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 18:
    Test point 2 TCM 58P connector No. 15
    Test point 1 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 19:
    Test point 2 TCM 58P connector No. 13
    Test point 1 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 26:
    Test point 2 TCM 58P connector No. 17

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2, VCC2, and SG1 wires are not open. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2, VCC2, and/or SG1 wire between the sensor unit and the TCM.

  3. Shorted wire check (PARKSEN1 line to PARKSEN2 line)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      TCM subharness 26P connector: disconnected
      TCM 58P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 18:
    Test point 2 TCM subharness 26P connector (female terminals) No. 19:

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the PARKSEN1 wire to the PARKSEN2 wire between the sensor unit and the TCM.

    NO 

    The PARKSEN1 wire to the PARKSEN2 wire are not shorted. Go to step 4.

  4. Shorted wire check (PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2, VCC2 lines)

    -1. Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      TCM subharness 26P connector: disconnected
      TCM 58P connector: disconnected
    Connector Terminal
    TCM 58P connector No. 13
    No. 15
    No. 17

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short to ground in the PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2 and/or VCC2 wire between the sensor unit and the TCM.

    NO 

    The PARKSEN1, PARKSEN2 and VCC2 wires are OK. Replace the sensor unit .
