Removal and Installation: Engine: Installation

WARNING: 

The power cables carry high voltage when the electric powertrain system is energized. To avoid serious injury from electrical shock, do not turn on the system with the power cables disconnected.

NOTE: How to read the torque specifications .

The electric powertrain components are located in this area. The electric powertrain is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the electric powertrain system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the electric powertrain service precautions before doing repairs or service.

  1. Torque Rod Bracket - Install
    1. If the torque rod bracket is removed, install the torque rod bracket .
  2. Engine/Transmission (e-CVT) - Position
    1. Position the engine/transmission (e-CVT) under the vehicle, and be sure that they are properly positioned. Carefully lower the vehicle, and stop with the installation position of the engine/transmission (e-CVT).
  3. Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Install

    1. Install the universal lifting eyelet with a commercially available spacer (A).

    2. Attach a chain hoist (B) to the universal lifting eyelet and the transmission hanger (C), then lift the engine/transmission (e-CVT) until it is securely supported by the chain hoist.

  4. Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt and Nut - Loosely Install
  5. Engine - Support
    1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
  6. Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Remove
  7. Side Engine Mount - Loosely Install
  8. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Raise the vehicle.
  9. Front Subframe - Support

    1. Set the subframe adapter on a transmission jack (A), line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, and tighten the bolts.

    2. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe (B).

  10. Front Subframe - Install
  11. Front Lower Arm Mounting Bolt - Install

    1. Install both sides of the front lower arm mounting bolt to the body .
  12. Torque Rod - Loosely Install
  13. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  14. All Engine Mount Mounting Bolt and Nut - Tighten
  15. Connector (EPS Subharness) - Connect
  16. Transmission Ground Cable - Connect
  17. ATF Hose (Transmission Side) - Connect
  18. Electric A/C Compressor - Install
  19. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  20. Steering Joint - Connect
  21. Electric VTC Motor - Install 
  22. Radiator - Install
  23. Heater Hose - Connect

  24. Fuel Feed Hose and EVAP Canister Purge Hose - Connect

    1. Connect the fuel feed hose (A), then install the quick-connect fitting cover (B)

    2. Install the hose clamp (C).

    3. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (D).

  25. Connector (Engine Room Harness) - Connect

    1. Install the harness clamps (A).

    2. Connect the connectors (B).

  26. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Raise the vehicle.
  27. Under-Floor TWC - Install
  28. Front Driveshaft - Install
  29. Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Connect
  30. Front Stabilizer Link Ball Joint - Connect
  31. Front Lower Arm - Connect
    1. Connect both sides of the front lower arm from the ball joints .
  32. ATF - Refill
  33. Engine Undercover - Install
  34. Front Wheel - Install
  35. Vehicle - Lift
    1. Lower the vehicle.
  36. PCM - Install 
  37. PCU - Install
  38. Intake Parts - Install
  39. Front Grille Cover - Install
  40. Service Plug - Turn ON
  41. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Connect
  42. Engine Oil - Refill
  43. PCU Coolant - Refill
  44. Engine Coolant - Refill
  45. Fuel Leak - Check
    1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not turn the READY TO DRIVE mode. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel line will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three time, then check for fuel leakage.
  46. Fluid Leak - Check
  47. PCM - Reset
  48. CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
  49. Idle Speed - Inspect
  50. Ignition Timing - Inspect
  51. Wheel Alignment - Check
  52. VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize
