Clutch Clearance Inspection: Inspection
- Over Drive Clutch Clearance - Inspect
1. Set a dial indicator (A) on the clutch end-plate (B). 2. Zero the dial indicator with the clutch end-plate lifted up to the snap ring (C).
3. Release the clutch end-plate to lower it, then put the clutch compressor attachment on the end-plate (A). 4. Press the clutch compressor attachment down with 147.1 N (15.00 kgf, 33.07 lbf) (the weight of the clutch compressor attachment is included) using a force gauge or equivalent, and read the dial indicator (B).
5. The dial indicator reads the clearance (C) between the clutch end-plate and the top disc (D). Take measurements in at least three places, and use the average as the actual clearance.
Clearance Between Clutch End-Plate and Top Disc Standard: 1.2-1.4 mm (0.047-0.055 in) 6. If the measurement is out of the standard, replace the over drive clutch assembly.
