How to Enter Neutral Position Holding Mode: Procedure
NOTE:
- There are two procedures (Procedure A and Procedure B) for entering the neutral position holding mode.
- This function is automatically canceled about 15 minutes after entering the neutral position holding mode with the vehicle in the ACCESSORY mode.
- Even if the negative terminal of the 12 volt battery is disconnected after the neutral position holding mode is actuated, the vehicle continues to keep the N position/mode.
- This function may not work if a failure of the vehicle occurs and/or when the ATF temperature is above 212 deg.F (100 deg.C).
Procedure A
- Neutral Position Holding Mode - Enter
1. Park the vehicle on level ground, and block all four wheels. 2. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
3. Shift the transmission to N position/mode while pressing the brake pedal.
4. Press and hold the N button again for 2 seconds.
5. Confirm that the message "Neutral-Hold Mode ON" is indicated on the gauge control module.
6. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
Procedure B
- Neutral Position Holding Mode - Enter
1. Park the vehicle on level ground, and block all four wheels. 2. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
3. Shift the transmission to N position/mode while pressing the brake pedal.
4. Release the brake pedal, then press the power switch within 5 seconds just switching to the N position/mode.
