DTC C0051-96 : Steering Angle Sensor Malfunction
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, check the steering gearbox installation .
- If DTC U0126-00 is stored at the same time as DTC C0051-96, troubleshoot DTC U0126-00 first, then recheck for DTC C0051-96.

DTC (IDAS)
- VSA system DTCs check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.
-4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC C0051-96 Steering Angle Sensor Malfunction Is DTC C0051-96 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
- Steering angle sensor check
-1. Check the CALIBRATION STATUS OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR in the ACC DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is "NOT COMPLETED" indicated?
YES
Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization .
NO
