Engine Oil Replacement (1.5L Engine): Replacement

NOTE: How to read the torque specifications.

  1. Engine - Warm Up
    1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm with no load (M/T in neutral, CVT in P or N) until the cooling fan comes on, then turn off the engine.
  2. Vehicle - Lift
  3. Engine Undercover Plate - Remove

  4. Engine Oil - Drain

    1. Remove the drain bolt (A), and drain the engine oil.

    2. Reinstall the drain bolt with a new washer (B) and torque to specification.

  5. Engine Oil - Refill

    1. Refill the engine with the recommended engine oil .

    Capacity 
    At Oil Change:  3.2 L (3.4 US qt) 
    At Oil Change including Filter:  3.5 L (3.7 US qt) 
    After Engine Overhaul:  4.0 L (4.2 US qt)

  6. Engine Oil Level - Check
    1. Run the engine for a minimum of 3 minutes, then check the oil level  and for any leaks.
  7. Engine Undercover Plate - Install

  8. Maintenance Minder - Reset (With Maintenance Minder System)
    1. If the Maintenance Minder required to replace the engine oil, reset the Maintenance Minder with the gauge (see "Resetting the Maintenance Minder"). If the Maintenance Minder did not require to replace the engine oil, reset the Maintenance Minder with the HDS (see "Resetting the Individual Maintenance Items").
  9. Engine Oil Monitor - Reset (With Engine Oil Monitor System)
