DTC 2608 : Rear Camera Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first - Refer to:
- This audio DTC sets when NG is indicated in the Rear Camera diagnosis (the Rear Camera icon is red in the System Links).
- Before You Troubleshoot, Make Sure To Follow The General Troubleshooting Information .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.
- 3. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2608 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Determine possible failure area (RR CAM VID line, others)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Rearview camera 6P connector - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Rearview camera 6P connector No. 1 - Refer to:
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) or
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) .Test point 2 Rearview camera 6P connector No. 4 - Refer to:
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) or
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) .Is there about 5 - 9 V?
YES
Go to step 7.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Determine possible failure area (RR CAM VCC line, RR CAM VID GND line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Rearview camera 6P connector No. 1 - Refer to:
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021) or
Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) .Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5 - 9 V?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (RR CAM VID GND line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio unit connector C (24P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector C (24P): disconnected Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector C (24P) No. 3 - Refer to:

YES
Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio Type [8-inch Screen]) (2016 2017 2018) or
Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Color Audio Type [5-inch Screen]) .
NO
There is an open in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Open wire check (RR CAM VCC line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Repair an open in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera.
NO
The RR CAM VCC wire is not open. Go to step 6.
- Shorted wire check (RR CAM VCC line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio unit connector C (24P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector C (24P): disconnected Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector C (24P) No. 16 - Refer to:

YES
Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera.
NO
Replace the audio unit - Refer to:
Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio Type [8-inch Screen]) (2016 2017 2018) or
Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Color Audio Type [5-inch Screen]) .
- Shorted wire check (RR CAM VID line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio unit connector C (24P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector C (24P): disconnected Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Rearview camera 6P connector No. 3 - Refer to:

Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2016 2017 2018) .Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
There is a short to body ground in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The RR CAM VID wire is not shorted. Go to step 8.
- Shorted wire check (RR CAM VID line to RR CAM VID GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

There is a short in the wires between the audio unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The RR CAM VID wire is not shorted. Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (RR CAM VID line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Replace The AUDIO-NAVIGATION Unit (2016 2017 2018) .
NO
There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Open wire check (RR CAM VCC line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Rearview camera 6P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (24P) No. 16 - Refer to:

YES
Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the rearview camera.
NO
The RR CAM VCC wire is not open. Go to step 6.
- Shorted wire check (RR CAM VCC line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector C (24P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

NO
