DTC: 1404

DTC 1404 : Audio Error 4 (DVD Error)

NOTE:

Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first - Refer to:
12 Volt Battery Test (Without Auto Idle Stop System) or

12 Volt Battery Test (Touring) .
This audio DTC sets when there is a problem with the DVD player unit, or an unplayable disc is inserted.
Before You Troubleshoot, Make Sure To Follow The General Troubleshooting Information .

Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.

- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then the ON mode.

- 3. Insert a disc into the DVD player unit, and play the disc, then eject the disc.

- 4. Check for hard error codes.

Is DTC 1404 indicated?

YES

The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
Disc check
-1. Clear the hard error codes.

- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.

- 3. Insert a known-good disc into the DVD player unit, and play the disc, then eject the disc.

- 4. Check for hard error codes.

Is DTC 1404 indicated?

YES

Replace The DVD Player Unit (2016 2017 2018) .

NO

Original disc is faulty.
