Poor acceleration

Probable cause(s)

• Traction motor defective: worn or damaged:
• • Stator
  • Rotor
  • Position sensor
  • Position sensor line
  • Terminal plate
  • Transmission fluid temperature sensor
  • Sensor harness
  • 3-phase wires
• Traction motor defective; faulty installations:
• • Stator
  • Position sensor
  • Terminals
  • 3-phase wire terminals
• Traction motor stator temperature high
• Traction motor rotor temperature high
• Traction motor position sensor not learned
• Generator motor defective: worn or damaged:
• • Stator
  • Rotor
  • Position sensor
  • Position sensor line
  • Terminal plate
  • 3-phase wires
• Generator motor defective; faulty installations:
• • Stator
  • Position sensor
  • Terminals
  • 3-phase wire terminals
• Generator motor stator temperature high
• Generator motor position sensor not learned
• Engine output low
• Low ATF level
• ATF pump worn or binding
• Main regulator valve stuck or spring worn
• Foreign material in separator plate orifice
• Cooler relief valve defective
• ATF strainer clogged
• ATF cooler clogged

Notes

• Check the engine control system.
• Check the ATF level. If the level is below the lower level, check the ATF cooler lines for leaks and loose connections. If necessary, clean the ATF cooler lines.
• Inspect the motor shaft for wear and damage.
• Inspect the generator shaft for wear and damage.
• Check the ATF pump drive gears for wear and damage.
• Replace the valve body assembly .
• Check for a clogged orifice in the separator plate. If the orifice is clogged, remove it and clean the separator plate orifice.
• Check the ATF strainer for debris. If the strainer is clogged, find the damaged components that caused the debris.
• Check the ATF cooler.
• Replace the transmission (e-CVT) .
