How to Release Park Lock: Procedure

1. Park the vehicle on level ground, and block all four wheels.

2. Install the lock release.

Before installing the lock release on the transmission, set the lock release to the P position (A) by pulling the pull ring (B) and rotating the bolt head (C) clockwise until it stops.
If the lock release is left on the transmission and the engine is started it will set a DTC.

3. Set the lock release to the N position (A) by rotating the bolt head (B) counterclockwise until it stops.

4. If you need to return to the P position, set the lock release to the P position (A) by pulling the pull ring (B) and rotating the bolt head (C) clockwise until it stops, then remove the lock release.
