DTC : P00FE: General Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) detects a blockage on the vent line by two phases:
- Phase 1
The PCM detects a blockage of vent line by estimating the volume of space in the evaporative emission (EVAP) system from the pressure behavior when the EVAP canister vent shut valve is closed and decompressed by purging. If the volume of space is large, the PCM defines as normal. If the volume of space is small, the detection moves to phase 2.
- Phase 2
If abnormality is found in phase 1, the PCM stops purging and seals the space of the EVAP system. Phase 2 is performed after the vehicle has stopped for a period of time, allowing the fuel in the tank to stabilize. If the gradient of the pressure change is small, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
