VSA System Symptom Troubleshooting Index

When the vehicle has one of these symptoms, check for VSA diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) with the HDS. If there are no DTCs, do the diagnostic procedure for the symptom, in the sequence listed, until you find the cause.

HDS does not communicate with the VSA modulator-control unit or the vehicle	Troubleshoot the DLC circuit .
ABS indicator, brake system indicator (red), VSA indicator, brake system indicator (amber), or VSA OFF indicator does not come on at start-up (bulb check)	Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function . Replace the VSA modulator-control unit .
VSA cannot be turned OFF	Symptom troubleshooting . Replace the VSA modulator-control unit .
